Supported by Neighbourhood Renewal Fund and Health Inequalities the Centre runs several free food and health programmes to help encourage and enable healthy eating.

Current Activities include:
Infant Weaning
4 practical sessions led by a Health Visitor and Food and Health Worker to support parents / carers to know when and how to wean their baby with healthy, low cost, home cooked weaning food.
Cookery Courses
We run several cookery courses throughout the year from cooking on a budget, family cookery to making vegetarian dishes.
Food and Health Training
We run an accredited food and health training course for anyone who would like to develop their skills and understanding in this area.
Children's Healthy Food Play Sessions
Our Food and Health Officer delivers healthy food sessions for groups of children (and their parents / carers where appropriate). This can include preparing healthy snacks, fruit smoothies and learning about 5 a day and fats using games, stories and activities.
Healthy Food Information Sessions
Our Food and Health Officer delivers several bespoke healthy food sessions for various groups, for example parenting group, anxiety management, workplace.
Weight Management
Over six sessions participants receive practical advice and support to help achieve a long term healthy weight and diet.
Fruit and Veg Co-op @ WRVS
The May Logan Centre supports a fruit, veg and salad co-op run at WRVS on Knowsley Road. This provides bags of fruit, veg or salad for £2.00 giving great value.
Events / Promotions
We promote healthy eating at events running in the Bootle area. This includes information of fats, salt & 5 a day as well as providing tasters and recipe cards to help and encourage people make changes to their diet.
Apple Tree Cafe
The Food and Health project supports the Apple Tree Cafe ensuring it provides a healthy balanced menu and is used as resource to provide information and host cookery courses.
